About Our Founder

Michele Koonin (LCSW, MBA) is the founder of Bully No More. Michele has worked as a mental health therapist in San Diego, California for over 20 years. Her areas of specialty are offender treatment for a variety of abuses and bullying prevention & treatment. Her curricula for treatment programs is being used by national and international organizations.

Michele’s passion for bullying prevention and treatment grew from observing that many of her adult clients have suffered bully-related incidents as children. She has identified the need to provide youngsters with the skills and mindsets to end bullying in order to prevent the need for interventions for them as adults.

Effective changes occur when there is an alternative, new behavior to replace unwanted behavior. Bullying can be replaced with kindness. We all need to teach and practice kindness-even when it is very difficult. The practicing of kindness will lead to the habit of kindness and hopefully make bullying a thing of the past.

About the logo:

The Bully No More logo is based on an original design by Predrag Stakic of Serbia. Mr Stakic’s work was chosen as the Universal Human Rights logo competition winner and is available as an open source product for the promotion and protection of human rights worldwide. The red outline and open hand urge action to halt bullying, but its dove shape reminds us that peace, harmony, and non-violence are as much a means as they are a desired end.
